Hi, Lanore.

Thanks for the kind words. I so enjoyed working on those Interact lessons, and would love to do more. It will be so interesting and helpful to hear from teachers who have used them in the classroom!

Hi! I would love to get the Renaissance unit; the various components of it look fantastic! It seems really awesome and would be a lot of fun to teach my students this year! I know how much fun the Christendom unit is and will certainly try some more of it this year!
I wanted to share my newest idea with you. I am going to have my students be historical writers this year keeping journals of discoveries instead of just taking notes. I plan to incorporate writing, painting and some of the ideas that Kylene Beers and Linda Rief shared with me at a Literature conference I went to in Maine the last week of June. I also plan to adapt some other ideas - having a dinner party with historical guests who are touting their stuff - showing off or portraying themselves as the guests of honor - students will be on stage with masks in groups of 2 or 3.
Then I also want them to find some of the incredible battle maps of the wars during the Ancient historical periods we cover in class and include those along with family trees as well as their own writing - from perspectives of 'those there at the time.'
I am really looking forward to this coming year. I appreciate your gift and hope to come see your facility this fall when I return to California in October for a long weekend.
Thanks so much! Sue
